SPS WELDING INSPECTOR - SPSWELDINGINSP
The Service holder is responsible, within the SPS team and under the Company Site Representative's supervision, for following-up, monitoring and supervising the inspection of Welding activities associated with Manifolds, CCF, MSS and Well Jumpers and carried out by the Contractor/Subcontractors during the manufacturing phase, ensuring that QC contractual and technical requirements related to the Welding discipline are duly applied by Contractor and/or Subcontractors.
The Service holder will have to follow & monitor the execution of the Welding qualifications process as well as the qualification of the welders. He will then have to ensure that the qualification program is executed in a timely manner and correctly reported by Contractor / Subcontractors. During the fabrication activities, the Service holder will have to ensure the qualified welders and welding operators are working in accordance to approved Welding procedure. In this respect, and to ascertain that the facilities are built as per the project requirements, the Service holder, in the perimeter of his discipline, verifies and comments Contractor's and/or Subcontractors' drawings, fabrication procedures and methodologies, welding map and welding procedure, and ensures that Contractor and/or Subcontractors have adequate equipment, resources, means and manpower to performed the Service with the required quality level and to compete it in due time.
The Service holder participates to routine and random inspections and audits, assists to daily / regular Construction meetings related to his discipline with SPS Contractor and/or Subcontractors, performs QA/QC and/or HSE visits / tours as required... and ensures an adequate reporting to the CSR (areas of concerns, problems encountered in its discipline during construction and/or implementation by SPS Contractor and/or Subcontractors).
The Service holder is also accountable for demonstrating, individually, an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE rules & requirements.
ACTIVITIES
1. To adopt and to demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to Company Ethics and Code of Conduct policy and H3SE rules and regulations.
2. To have knowledge of Company Referential (CRs, GSs, and GMs), international norms and standards, Project specifications related to his area of responsibility, for application to the Project.
3. To ensure, with regard to his discipline and all along construction and fabrication phases, that the SPS Contractor is enforcing his contractual commitments, is implementing properly his construction plan and objectives, and is performing safely his activities as per Project specifications, design and codes.
As such, he shall:
- Review the relevant Contractors and suppliers ITP's and procedures;
- Attend welders' tests qualification and monitor at yard that only qualified welders are used for the tasks;
- Monitor and control the implementation on site of the approved drawings and plans, Surveillance plans, Inspection and test plans, WPS, PWHT..;
- Ensure that the works are closely inspected by the contractor's QC inspection team (e.g.
RT, UT, MPI, PMI, etc.) and perform visual inspection of welds;
- Review and ensure that all material certificates and certification files are up to date, including documentation from vendors and contractors;
- Monitor the work deficiencies, and ensure the implementation of the necessary corrective actions;
- Be in possession of welding gauges and others tools in order for him to perform his tasks without the assistance of CTR;
- Monitor CTR organization and advise, if necessary, mitigation measures to improve CTR productivity;
- Follow up on the implementation of validated action plans, or other mitigation plans issued;
- Report immediately to CSR any anomaly or non-conformity;
- Attend and participate in daily discipline meetings or various construction meetings, and provide support to the CSR in its various reviews;
- Participate to construction, HSE or QA/QC specific audits or visits;
- Provide regular inspection & activity reports.
4. To implement and maintain the required weekly Quality reporting system and to follow SPS Contractor's Quality activities through his reporting.
5. To ensure the tracking of anomalies and non-conformities performed by the SPS Contractor and ensure a correct follow-up of corrective actions.
6. In General:
- To assist the CSR as and when required with regards to his discipline;
- To provide technical support and assistance to any query related to his discipline;
- To implement his discipline methods for the supervision of the day to day activities;
- To enforce decisions/directions taken at SPS Management level and as directed by the
CSR.
7. To report to the CSR, in particular when deviations to works' procedures or quality problems are encountered and detected.
8. To prepare and issue release note and/or appropriate certificate with appropriate punch list if needed at time of release
9. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation issued under his area of responsibility.
OBSERVATIONS ON ACTIVITIES AND MISSIONS
The activities relating to Quality Control are not limited to the above listed activities. By definition, scopes of works on Projects are mainly non recurrent and during some phases of the Project, the Service requested to the Holder may request flexibility for collaborating to various tasks in order to adapt to the SoW, new procedures and tools. Any initiative for an enhanced technicality within the frame of Quality Control profession is a plus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND

Professional Experience: minimum 10 years of in a QC/Welding role in the Oil&Gas
·
Experience in similar position: minimum 5 years in similar roles
· Level / Diploma: Education to HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
· Vocational qualifications: Welding Institute (or equivalent)
· Languages: English mandatory
